The Lord’s Prayer

In this prayer, we are acknowledging who God is and reverencing his name. We are to be thankful for his love no matter what’s happening in our lives. We are asking God to have his way. Give us what we need for today. Help us to let go of bitterness through forgiveness and thank you for forgiving us. We are asking the Holy Spirit to go before us, so we are not led into temptation, and by doing this we are delivered from evil.

Jesus showed us how to make a personal connection with God by teaching us this prayer. It’s a way to have God at the center of our lives every day.

“Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13
