Love Like Jesus

Practice patience. It’s not easy to be patient with everyone. Sometimes it helps to focus on something positive about that person. Think about how God expects you to respond to them. Impatience can make a bad situation worse and can lead to anger. Anger does not produce the righteousness God desires (James 1:20).

Show care and consideration. People tend to see the world as they are and not as it is. Make a habit of listening so you can understand where people are spiritually. We are not all at the same level when it comes to spiritual growth. Having an idea of someone’s level of spiritual maturity should help you communicate with them more effectively. When we love like Jesus, we are the exception. We cannot expect the world to be this way. To show care and consideration, you must be patient.

Forgive often. Choose to release negative feelings. You can be upset about what someone said or did, but don’t dwell on it. Instead, choose forgiveness.

“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.”  Ephesians 4:2

“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man has a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” Colossians 3:13
