Sometimes we are busy dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. Which distracts us from being present in the present. We can’t do anything to change what happened in the past, so it’s a waste of time and energy to dwell on it. Especially if what we are dwelling on is negative. Positive things that happened are actually good to think about, but we tend to dwell on the negative things.
We must trust God with our future. He already knows what’s going to happen tomorrow. We have enough to deal with today, so why add worrying about tomorrow to that list? Tomorrow will take care of itself. God gives us what we need for each day daily (Matthew 6:11). He’ll give you what you need for tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Practice living in the present. Be mindful that the enemy will try to get you to focus on past hurts/disappointments and future worries. According to James 4:7, resist the devil and he will go away.
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:34)
