Keeping Your Eyes on God

Following God's Lead

Try not to allow your situation to steal your joy, instead keep your eyes on God. God never said that we wouldn’t go through trials, he just said that he would be there for us while we go through them. When you take your focus off of God and focus on your situation, you are relying on your own strength to get you through. Well, we are not strong enough to handle life’s trials on our own. This allows worry, fear, and depression to seep in opening the door to negativity.

When I feel overwhelmed or discouraged, I praise God. I have found that it works! God gives me joy and peace that can only come from him. I lost my husband last year in March and I still had to manage the kids, go to work, and maintain the household. There was no way I would have made it through without keeping my eyes on God. I was distracted by grief,  my son getting in trouble at school, home repairs, and the stress on my job. When I focused for too long on any of these situations I felt like I was slipping into darkness, but the moment I decided to shift my focus back to God I felt better! He strengthened me and I thank God for his strength! He elevated my mood:)

So be encouraged and praise God!

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10)
