God’s Placement

God will place us where he wants us to be. Often times we want to do what we want to do, which can put us outside of where God wants us to be. Statements like: I want to go here, I want to live here, and I want to work there; are all examples. Does this mean that we shouldn’t want things or make choices? No, not at all. The key is to align your goals and plans with what God wants you to do.

God’s placement isn’t always pleasant and can sometimes go against societal norms. For example, working a job you don’t want to work because it’s stressful. I’ve been in this position before. Whenever I tried to leave, I didn’t have peace about leaving and I couldn’t find another job that suited me. I prayed about it and realized that God didn’t want me to leave that job yet. Could I have left anyway? Sure, we have free will to make choices. But I knew that if I left, I wouldn’t have God’s blessing to do so. That’s the best way I can think to describe it. As a result, I would have traded one unhappy situation for another.

At one point in my life I wasn’t working. God gave me peace about leaving my job so I left. I’m the type of person who has another job lined up before I leave a job. So not working was awkward for me. I continued to pray about the situation especially when friends or family members questions why I hadn’t found a job yet. Whenever I tried to look into a job, I didn’t have peace about it. I was just trying to conform because society says that’s what I’m supposed to do. Well God had other plans. It was my understanding that I was to just keep still until God told me what to do next. So that’s what I did. God made sure all of my needs were provided for during that time. He is true to his word😊.

I encourage you to follow God’s lead and be blessed. Just because you’re outside of your comfort zone or living outside the box don’t get discouraged. God knows what he’s doing, and you just have to trust him. It’s called having faith.

“Be still, and know that I am God…” (Psalm 46:10)

“Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
