Jesus is our perfect example. We are meant to follow his example. If Jesus came back today, what do you think he would say to you? If you want to know where you stand, compare yourself to Jesus. God knows we are flawed. It’s wise to acknowledge our flaws and work on fixing them. We need God’s help to do this.
We usually compare ourselves to other people to help us understand how righteous we are. We tell ourselves we’re doing well enough because we don’t do some of the things other people may be doing. Things that are considered going against God’s word. To truly know where we stand, we must compare ourselves to Jesus. We all fall short, but what are we doing about it? Everyday that we wake is another opportunity to fix our flaws. Persistence is the key. Allow God to help you by surrendering to his will.
“Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23
